I’m getting married. This is me shutting the door on the possibility of us. You’ll always be a part of me, and I’m eternally grateful to you for showing me love when I needed it the most, but you were right – you couldn’t be what I needed. I don’t pine for you and haven’t in many, many years, but you’re the one I always secretly hoped would reach back out, if just to talk. But the past should stay dead. It’s for the better.
