Hey. Why do you have to put your dog in a shelter? It can be really tough to stick with your human, but she wants to, if she has so far. Dogs aren’t wolves because they stuck around us in the hardest times humans lived through. They stick by us when we’re homeless. They’re happy with what we can scrounge for them when we are. Consider reconsidering. It can feel cruel to keep a friend like that in a situation neither of you chose, but sometimes it can be crueler to let go. I’m not trying to make a tough decision more tough, but it’s just food for thought. Her life won’t get better by you both missing each other for the rest of your lives. Maybe what’s causing you to feel you need to do this isn’t worth losing her over. She sounds sweet, and so do you. Please don’t put her in a shelter, if you can think of any way not to.
