I don’t think it was meant for it to end like this.
We tried.. quietly, stubbornly, lovingly, but somewhere along the way, we stopped reaching for each other. And by the time we realized it, there was too much space between us to close. You were something rare. The kind of person you don’t forget, even when you try. And I’ll always wonder if, in another time, another version of us might’ve made it through. But for what it’s worth… I do love you. And part of me always will. Just not loudly anymore.
