realised a step too late that you actually meant so much to me. being with you was like a wound, but leaving you was rubbing salt into it. it took losing you to realise i loved you. i hope you know i did, and that you loved me back all the same.
i’m with someone new now, and though i’d say the wound has healed, thinking about you hurts like looking at the scar it left behind.
i would give it all to have you back but i also truly hope that you’re living life to your fullest now and making choices you know bring you happiness. i’ll still love you, always.
