I really can’t believe how long I let myself be afraid of you. Enough time has gone by now that I can see you for what you really are. You were never mysterious or intimidating or jaded, you were sick. You only knew how to feel like you were in control through hurting people, and I’m so angry that I didn’t realize that sooner. I hope someday you get the help you need, but your sickness will never excuse what you did to me. I’m in a better place now, and I’m never going to let you and your chaos into my life again.
